I have never been one to sit back and keep quiet when I believe that something is important, but like many, the events of several months ago changed me. I no longer believe that for me, making noise is enough. It is time to take action. And that's why I'm running.
I can't in good conscience urge others to step up to support and grow the kind of society we love, without being willing to take that step myself. Now, I recognize that not everyone can just run for an office, because we all have different skill sets and time constraints, and that's ok. But I know that I have the skills, experience and education to do the job, and I can make the time. And so I have.
All too often we don't think about our first responders until we need them, and often those are some of the darkest hours of our lives, but we need to do better. We need to make sure that we are always doing the best we can for those who help keep us safe and healthy. I will make sure that the professional and even personal needs of our Fire District personnel are brought to the forefront every day.
