I am a Navy veteran, parent, volunteer, active citizen and homeowner.
I am a US Navy First Gulf War Era veteran with a service-connected disability. I worked on A-6 and F/A-18 aircraft, weapons system avionics and ordnance. I learned quite bit about those who choose to serve, and I have the utmost respect for those who choose to do so, whether in the military or other public service professions.
We purchased our home in Snohomish County about 5 years ago, moving north from Bellevue. My children have both been enrolled in Everett Public Schools. My youngest still does, and I volunteer there regularly as part of the PTA managed Art Docent program, teaching several classes.
As a community member I'm active in a number of different organizations from statewide to local groups in a variety of roles, providing direction, leadership, education and technical support as necessary. I believe strongly that we all have valuable place in society. I have developed a valuable network of individuals and professionals would expertise in myriad areas that I believe will prove useful when I am elected.
I have worked in a variety of fields, and I have professional and volunteer experience in conflict management, negotiation, critical reasoning, creative problem solving and increasing efficiency. I earned a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from University of Washington Bothell, and I have demonstrated ability to function effectively in teams consisting of varying personality traits.
I possess both the necessary skills and experience to fill the Fire Commissioner #3 role, and the proven drive to continue to serve my community to the best of my ability.
